About Patrick Adair Designs

Patrick Adair Designs is a direct-to-consumer jewelry brand that turns exotic materials—meteorite, carbon fiber, glowstone, dinosaur bone, and precious metals—into conversation-starting rings and accessories. We prototype obsessively, launch rapidly, and tell the story of every piece across YouTube, TikTok, and Meta. Our tiny team punches above its weight by coupling craftsmanship with data-driven eCommerce.

The Role

As our first Jewelry Designer, you’ll own concept-to-launch design for new collections and limited drops. You’ll sketch, model (CAD), iterate prototypes with our own internal workshop and manufacturing partners, and work closely with marketing to translate each design’s story into compelling content. This is a builder role—expect to establish processes, influence material sourcing, and shape the future aesthetic of the brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Ideation – Generate concepts, mood boards, and hand/CAD sketches for rings, pendants, and small accessories that fit our “modern materials meet fine jewelry” ethos.

  • 3D Modeling & Technical Specs – Create production-ready CAD files (Rhino, MatrixGold, or similar) with precise tolerances and stone settings.

  • Prototyping & Vendor Collaboration – Coordinate 3D prints, casting, and finishing samples; iterate quickly based on fit, comfort, and visual feedback.

  • Material Innovation – Experiment with new exotic or reclaimed materials; test durability, finish quality, and supply-chain feasibility.

  • Launch Readiness – Partner with marketing on product naming, creative direction for photography/video, and crafting the hero story for each release.

  • Trend & Customer Insight – Monitor fashion and DTC jewelry trends, mine customer data, and propose designs that balance novelty with commercial appeal.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years professional jewelry design experience (fine or fashion); portfolio required.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (Rhino, MatrixGold, ZBrush, or comparable).

  • Solid understanding of casting, stone-setting, and finishing processes (lost-wax, CNC, additive manufacturing) for traditional jewelery as well as other industrial processes for more contemporary jewelry

  • Eye for proportion, comfort, and wearability—especially for men’s jewelry.

  • Ability to juggle multiple fast-moving projects and hit tight launch timelines.

  • Bonus points: experience with unusual materials (meteorite, carbon fiber, wood, opal) or small-batch DTC brands.

Who Thrives in This Role

You’re a hands-on creator who loves turning wild ideas into tangible, wearable art. You are comfortable with using constraints (budget, material quirks, production limits) as fuel for creativity, not barriers. You’re equally comfortable alone in CAD tweaking a bezel thickness and on a video call pitching a design story to the marketing team or guiding the operations team through the prototyping process.
